When I first sketched the Laroma table, I didn’t just think of a design, but a space. A table where every material that makes it up must tell a story of power, calmness and leadership vision. I went through dozens of wood workshops to find the right wood grain like a calm wave. Touched hundreds of leathers to choose a smooth and decisive touch. And chose every gold-plated metal detail as a highlight of determination. Laroma is not just a table, it is a silent companion in every major decision of a chairman. At the same time, it is an indispensable piece in a standard and classy designing the chairman office.
1. Wood – The breath of nature and the depth of power
When I started designing the Laroma desk, I didn’t just think about the shape or function of the desk. I thought about the material as a silent soul that shapes the owner’s temperament. Wood – a material that has breath, age and depth. I chose it as an underground stream that brings nature into the workspace. Among countless choices, I stopped at the types of wood with strong personalities. Walnut with deep wood grain like the flow of time. American oak is spacious and strong, and ebony with its powerful black color, like a declaration that doesn’t need to be said. Each type of wood has its own personality, its own message. And we don’t choose mass. We choose the soul, choose the memories that have been nurtured for decades in each old tree trunk.
Strict wood selection process
Each piece of wood is also carefully selected by us. Not only because it is over 30 years old. But it also has to be strictly dried. It must reach the standard humidity to prevent warping and termites over time. But technique is not everything. It takes me weeks just to choose each piece of wood with uniform grain and harmonious color. So that when assembled, the entire space is not “broken”. Each time we choose wood, we listen. As if we are talking to each tree trunk to understand where it wants to belong.
When you put your hand on the table, you will feel the smooth and solid surface. And the gentle breath of wood spreads a warm scent. It is not only closeness, but also a feeling of solidity. 2. Leather – The delicate touch of authority in designing the chairman office
If wood is the foundation of strength, then leather is the final touch for me, creating a sense of power without having to show off. When I started looking for the material to cover the Laroma table. I wanted to choose a material that could evoke a sense of luxury at first touch. But still be subtle enough not to overshadow the rest of the design. And I looked to Italian cowhide – a premium natural leather, tanned using traditional hand-tanned methods. Keeping the original color and texture of the material intact.
The journey to find leather material
We work exclusively with small leather workshops in Tuscany, where each piece of leather is hand-checked. We only select full-grain, defect-free leather that is uniform in thickness and resilient. Not because we are picky, but because I believe that there can be no compromises on a leader’s desk.
The leather covering the Laroma tabletop has an excellent softness and smoothness. Every time I put my hand on it, I feel a strange quietness. Not emptiness, but a quiet space to think deeper and further. The leather surface is breathable, smooth, and durable over time. And above all, it evokes a sense of privacy. Like a private world reserved for the owner. It is a space for strategic thinking, for big decisions, and for an authority that does not need to be displayed. 3. Gold-plated metal – Lines honor the sophistication of designing the chairman office
In the design of the Laroma table, metal is not the center. But it contributes to shaping the overall temperament as a sharp highlight. Quietly highlighting the entire majesty and sophistication of the table. I always believe that: sophistication is not in the most prominent part. But in the seemingly smallest details – where the gaze stops a little longer. And the emotion begins to gradually penetrate the perception. That is why I chose champagne gold-plated metal, a soft, unobtrusive gold color. But enough to evoke the sophistication that the Laroma table brings.
The implicit signature of sophistication and assertiveness
We use 304 stainless steel – a high-quality material that is resistant to oxidation and durable over time. Each metal part is CNC cut with almost absolute precision. Then, we hand-grind each edge. So that the surface is no longer cold from the machine, but becomes soft and friendly to the touch. PVD plating technology is applied as an advanced vacuum coating process. Helps keep the metallic color stable, does not fade, does not rust even after many years of use.
I call those metallic lines “silent signatures”. Not loud, not noticeable, but once you recognize them, you will not forget them. It is the feeling of a leader’s hand that does not need to knock hard. Just a light touch is enough to create power. I did not choose the material to make an immediate impression. But to create a lasting emotion, the kind of emotion that a chairman needs when making a big decision.
